JC Beans — cookie heaven

September 16, 2013

Nothing says bliss to me like a warm chocolate chip cookie. So, JC Beans in Dana Point is bliss on steroids. They have ginormous cookies that are baked fresh in the morning and can be reheated in the afternoons to achieve the same fresh-out-of-the-oven warmth. The options are: chocolate chip, oatmeal or Reeses.  The  Reeses cookie has a delightful peanut butter cup in the center, the equivalent of the prize at the bottom of the Cracker Jack box. Like you really need a reward for getting to the middle of a peanut butter cookie. That should be reward enough. But to get to the peanut butter cup, and let it melt in your mouth, is sheer heaven to your taste buds.

While it would be ideal if JC Beans were at the harbor, it is a short drive away. Plus, they have a drive-through, so on cold, rainy days, you don’t even have to get out of your car to enjoy these delectable cookies. And, you get to spend money at a local business, as there is a drive-through Starbucks a few doors down. Paired with a hot chocolate, you just can’t get more warm, comfort food than this.

I typically get a cookie and then drive to the area above the harbor, and sit in my car, gazing out at the ocean, while I munch on my cookie, with the afternoon sunlight streaming onto my face. Mmmmmmm good. Thank you J.C. Beans for this slice of heaven. jcbeans.com
